Writing Affirmations That Your Subconscious Absorbs Like A Sponge

Writing Affirmations That Your Subconscious Absorbs Like A Sponge

I hope you are enjoying this series of posts for achieving anything you want with the power of your subconscious mind. We have already set a really good foundation with self-hypnosis, setting goals that last a life time and serve your life purpose, figuring out your emotional blocks and removing them. How about we take this process to the next level and upgrade your self hypnosis practice? This upgrade involves writing your personal affirmations in a way that your subconscious mind falls in love with every word you suggest, and absorbs all the information like a dry sponge absorbing water.

The secret here is using a hypnosis technique called “truism”.

how-to-write-affirmations

Step one:

What are some of your biggest personal strengths? Think along the lines of personal characteristics and traits.

Maybe you are a really good listener. Or maybe you are really helpful and caring.

For me, one of my strong personal characteristic is giving. Practice of giving without expectation is so important to me and over the years, it has become a natural habit.

Step two:

Write down specific examples of when you exhibited said personal strength. Try to think of an example that makes your heart sing just at the thought of it.

Maybe you are a loving person. Think of a time you expressed love to someone.  Does that thought make you smile?

Example from my own life: Strong personal trait – Giving – When I was living in Sri Lanka, I was very fortunate to earn 6 figures each month. So I gave away 50% of my income to charity. I also gave away some of the fifty percent I kept for myself to beggars on the road. While this makes me a woman with no savings, it makes feel so happy and joyful to know I positively impacted somebody’s life.

Your turn! Download the worksheet and write 2-3 strong personal traits and specific examples of them.

Step three:

  1. Write your affirmations in the present tense.

Ex: I AM successful. I AM calm and in control.

2. Mix in your strengths to some of your affirmations.

Ex: If you your strength was love – Because I am a loving person, a kind hearted person the universe created prosperity and wealth through me

If your strength was confidence – I attract abundance, I am magnet to all things positive because I am confident

Personal ex: My needs are always met. I always receive more than I require because I give without expecting anything in return.

The idea here is to give your critical mind a really good reason to accept your suggestion. Your mind already knows that you are a kind person, a loving person, an awesome person! So you say “because I am abc I am now xyz”, or I am already abc and so xyz is an inevitable truth”.

To make it even better, since you spent some time validating your strengths, thinking about specific examples, you have given your brain factual evidence to accept your suggestion. And because your personal strength is also your true fact, your mind just can’t deny it. Tagging a brand new idea with a fact makes your subconscious mind absorb this information with ease.

To make it even easier for you, I have created a downloadable cheat sheet. In it, you can work through your affirmations plus, get a set of affirmations that have proven to be successful!
